I know the memories will last a lifetime.
If I am lucky enough, my wedding may not even come close
I am proud of all of you. I am proud of you, parents
The dress you helped me pick is truly gorgeous
Thanks to my photographer, beauticians and hairdressers
Who made this day unforgettable
Thanks to everybody who comes to have a good time with me
I want you all to know that you mean a lot to me
As I am ready to embark on my journey as a young woman

Where else is all of this possible other than Miami or the US?
You came to this country with lots of hope
You worked hard for what you have amassed
In turn, you decide to share with me.

Mom and dad, I don't want to make you all-teary-eyed
You deserve all my gratitude for bringing me to this country
And for raising four good citizens
There's no way I will be able to repay you
All I can say is that I will take these memories with me
Wherever life takes me
To my grandparents who worked in the fields of California and Miami Dade
I know it was not always easy for you
How could you contemplate that your sons would be doctors and engineers?
Your hard work paide off. I am now rejoicing the fruits of your hard labor
I would not like to disappoint my parents. I want to follow them
If anything, some day, I hope to keep the Quincenera tradition alive
For my children. After all, family is all that matters to us
