My two favorite ladies on the red carpet are Sandra Bullock and Kathryn Bigelow. Kathryn beat ex-husband, James Cameron, for the best Director award! She beat him at his own game! Let us hope they get along as professionals. Divorce always has a sour taste despite everything else and the partners' personal skills. Now, put politics aside and watch these gorgeous dresses which will inspire many prom and quinceanera participants this year.
Who Wore What at the 82nd Award Ceremony? The Sparkling of Silver, Gold and Red on the Red Carpet
By now, we all have our favorites among all the elegant gowns and dresses worn by the grandes dames of Hollywood. We saw them shining in the exciting fashion of the season designed by some of the best contemporary designers. Penelope Cruz and Sigourney Weaver stole our breath with their red but regal shades of red. Cameron Diaz, with bold red lips and Kate Winslet wore strapless gold gowns while Jennifer Lopez stood out in a great pale-pink dress. Cameron Diaz's dress was designed by Oscar de la Renta. Kate Winslet's gown is an elegant pewter and gray Yves Saint Laurent couture, held on top with a satin column skirt. She also had on a deco-inspired $2.5 million yellow-diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co.
For sure, the Red carpet looks worthy of an Oscar. Sandra Bullock received so many compliments not only for the best actress award but also for the comparison to an elegant statuette with a tight silver gown. She had on a silver emboridered Marchesa gown carefully selected to reflect the grandness of the night.
Jennifer Lopez wore an Armani Prive Sci-fi iridescent pale pink silk organza gown with a cascading mess of ruffles on her left hip. As for Sara Jessica-Parker, she wore butter yellow Chanel couture pillow case of dress which many critics have been commenting on. Her silhouette took her height to higher levels of sophistication and elegance for the night to see and be seen.
Anika Noni Rose's typical strapless, tight bodice revealed her beautiful proportions and height. Great silhouette too! Zoe Saldana donned a Givenchy haute couture gown which was loaded with a mix of crystal and ruffles. Talking about ruffles, Vera Farmiga also a gown with ruffles.
Queen Latifah wore a lavender shade with a jeweled shoulder strap which goes around her waist in a diagonal swath. That did justice to her curvy shape. She looked regal and comfortable in that dress.
Mo'Nique wore a cobalt sleeveless gown. She complimented her electric blue Tadashi Shoji asymmetrical dress with gardenias in her hair. She later revealed to Barbara Walters that she used to play being the winner of an award and getting to thank God, her parents and many others. During the broadcasting of her last Red Carpet show, Barbara got Mo'Nique to reveal that she does not like to shave her legs. She had a bad experience with shaving and that her husband does not mind her being shaved or unshaven.
Gabourey Sidibe wore a flattering royal blue chiffon creation with silver leafy vines. It was decorated with silver beads in a floral pattern. Appearing with Oprah after the ceremony, she looked very comfortable and behaved like a pro on the Red Carpet under the watchful eyes of her mother. The latter was not too far behind her.
Miley Cyrus donned a bustier-style strapless gold number by Jenny Packlam. The Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles saw a lof of flowers on the Oscar night.
Meryl Streep wore a bright white gown with a deep V neckline.
