While we are at it, how about the bad rap song by Miami Hurricanes football players?
It was only a matter of time. You used to hear about rap and NBA stars. Rap and Shaquille O’Neal. Rap and the other tough guys of the NBA. Well, it was just a matter before college and university students start embracing that musical genre that makes Kanye West and 50 Cent household names. Now, whether the Miami Hurricane Football players’ group (The Seventh Floor Crew) cut muster is something that the football program and university must decide. As far as the public is concerned, there has been interest in the rancid, inappropriate rap song so much so that somebody posted it on a blog.
That’s when all hells break loose for the members of the Seventh Floor Crew who will be talked to and counseled if their voice can be heard on the song. New and former members created the rap song for their own consumption, but it made its way to the public. All it needed to take is one person to show interest in it. Head Coach Larry Coker does not want to recognize the bizarre talent of his football players who made references to lewd content that demeans women. For good cause. "The content of the recording is unfortunate, inappropriate and demeaning," Dee said in a statement. "The university and the athletic department disapprove of the content and its references. To those who may hear this material, we apologize. Any students whose voices can be identified will be subject to appropriate discipline and-or counseling."
It remains to be seen whether other school programs will follow in the footsteps of the Miami Hurricanes.
